D.O. MORE BUFFALO

Organization: Buffalo School District #27, Haven House

The University at Buffalo Internal Medicine's Health Equity Committee will be combining with D.O.More for a fundraiser to help raise school supplies for Buffalo School District #27. Fundraiser will begin on Monday, August 14th with an anticipated delivery date of the first week in September. Members of the Health Equity Committee will deliver the school supplies to the students and speak with them about health and medicine. 

 

The University at Buffalo Health Equity Committee will be hosting another fundraiser later in the year to help provide Christmas gifts to kids. More details to come!

Past launches: D.O. More Buffalo was founded by local medical students who partnered with Haven House, one of the only domestic violence shelters in Buffalo, NY. Haven House partners with Child & Family Services and their mission to "strengthen families and promote the well-being of children through prevention, intervention, education, and advocacy." Since their founding, Haven House has built an eight (8)-bedroom shelter that provides temporary housing for thirty-two (32) victims and their children. Through D.O. More's $1,600 donation, we purchased 4 large boxes of food items and over 20 giant bags of winter clothing, to help those in need. Thank you for your generous donations!

Most recently in 2022, D.O. More Buffalo launched with the University of Buffalo Internal Medicine Residency's Health Equity Committee, to raise $1,750 for Christmas gifts for children at St. James House of Prayer. The Episcopal church provided these gifts for each individual child's Christmas wish list. Thank you for helping us D.O. more!
